C 002 Berlin Exhibition Badge 1938

(0 Reviews)
1st International Handicrafts Exhibition Badge Berlin - May 10 to July 10, 1938. The badge was made and the exhibition held just 14 months before the start of World War 2.

The badge has a good clasp and has the maker name E F Wiedmann, Frankfurt-M.

The badge measures around 30 by 40 mm and weighs in at 14,7 grams. Made from vaulted enamelled tombac with a soldered brass pin, there is a chip in the grey enamel, moderate wear and scratching to the enamel surface of the badge.

This badge was almost certainly sold as a souvenir of the exhibition.

Collector Note

The event was a huge two month exhibition of handcrafted artworks from many countries. This multicoloured enamelled pin was probably sold as a souvenir as well as given free to people manning the booths. We believe the badges for people manning the booths had a slightly different pin so exhibitors could attach their country colours.
